PWC Meeting Recap - 19 February 2025

Our latest Pasadena Women's Club meeting was a wonderful gathering of dedicated and inspiring women. With 14 ladies in attendance, including two new members, Tamara and Cynthia, we had a productive and engaging session filled with discussions, planning, and charitable efforts.

Meeting Highlights:

Welcome, Pledge, and Call to Collect
The meeting began with a warm welcome, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of reflection.

Introductions and Birthdays
We took the time to introduce ourselves and celebrate those with birthdays this month!

President’s Statement
Our President shared updates and key points on our club’s mission, upcoming activities, and goals for the remainder of the year.

Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the previous meeting were distributed and reviewed, with a motion to approve them pending final updates.

Pasadena Heritage / Edmund Blinn House Membership Donation
The club discussed supporting Pasadena Heritage and the Edmund Blinn House with a membership donation to contribute to local preservation efforts.

Calendar & 2024/2025 Meeting Schedule
A review of upcoming meetings and events took place, ensuring members are well-informed and engaged.

Membership Drive & Event Planning
Exciting updates were shared regarding our club’s membership drive and event planning, including an updated website. A member inquired about the possibility of adding an online payment option for membership fees on the website.

Club Publicity Chair for Advancement
Discussions were held regarding the appointment of a Club Publicity Chair to help increase visibility and outreach for our initiatives.

Fun & Fellowship: Bingo Fundraiser
Our Bingo game was a resounding success, bringing joy to all attendees! Everyone walked away with a prize, making for a fun-filled and engaging social activity.

Philanthropic Efforts & Community Support

• We successfully donated school supplies and toys to the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena.
• The Pasadena Senior Center received our support for its Emergency Food Bank initiative.
• The club collected gift cards and $375 to support the Eaton Fire Victims.
• Plans are underway to facilitate household goods donations for Eaton Fire Victims from IKEA.
• A list of recommended Pasadena-based donation centers and charities supporting those affected by the Eaton Canyon Fire was shared with members:

Business and Administrative Updates:

• Purpose and Intent Publication – Finalizing information for websute to enhance outreach and awareness.
• Board Nominations & Roster Updates – Reviewing nominations and updating leadership rosters.
• SGVD & CFWC Program Reports & Awards – Updates on regional and state-level activities and recognition.
• Revised Scholarship Program – Discussions on expanding our scholarship initiatives to benefit more recipients.
• Charitable Donations & Tax Identification – Ensuring compliance with 501(c)(3) guidelines for charitable giving.
• Treasurer’s Report & Financial Overview – Pending final updates and motions to approve financial matters.

Looking Ahead:

As we continue to grow and make an impact, we encourage all members to stay engaged and bring forward ideas to strengthen our club’s initiatives. Our collective efforts make a difference in the Pasadena community, and we look forward to our upcoming meetings and events!
